This is the concluding episode of the interview between Clint Crabtree, MMA Champion, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Blackbelt and Owner of Grand Rapids Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. In this final part of the interview with Clint, he explains in more detail how he manages his diet combined with exercise and how it’s redefining the way we think about living with diabetes type 1 or type 2. If you have diabetes, want to prevent diabetes or maybe know someone who is diabetic, you won’t want to miss this final part of a very enlightening interview.
Hello – just want to say this is brilliant. I was diagnosed slightly late too (31 years old). My diet before had been mostly healthy – lots of fruit and I always preferred brown bread too and exercised a lot – hardly ever overweight (at Christmas maybe) . After dx I have found that fruit is something I have to avoid more especially sweet fruits, bananas and oranges are ok but other things send my numbers very high (fructose), so its great to hear that someone else went through this too (telling the docs you already ate the healthy way). Am hoping to enrol in an MA academy in my local area, just need a note from the docs to say its alright for me to do so. having watched this you have made me feel less worried about their reaction and more sure that my body will tell me what it needs so don’t keep “over” injecting just because the professionals think that’s the way to do it. Many thanks for this wonderful, honest and inspiring interview and best of luck with all that you do. Thank You, Adele
