iRescueRadio 035: The five fears of CPR, Comments from ProCPR, Cats eating chipmunks, Is it a key remote or dongle?
This week’s episode of iRescueRadio covers the Five Fears of starting CPR: Fear of disease, lawsuits, uncertainty, hurting a person, and safety. Nationally only 26% of the time will bystanders start CPR out of the hospital. We hope to dispel these fears so more lives will be saved.
A small disagreement cropped up during our conversation on what a car remote-dongle-keychain-thingy-whatever is called. We brought in some expert advice to give the correct answer.
iRescueRadio 034: New Format: The Good, the Bad and the Training
During a summer hiatus of about three weeks, we decided it was time to retool the show. What we had, while good, was starting to get into nothing but politics, without rescue or health included. I, as the producer, recommended finding the last week’s health and medical press releases. It would have been this week in health. That format, however, has been shelved for now, as we wanted to try something different. Instead, they are going to look at a positive comment, a negative comment and then a good question, training or otherwise, from the last week that a lot of people would like to know the answer to.
It makes for a shorter episode of about 22 minutes.
iRescueRadio 033: DDoS Attacks, Virtual Doctor’s Appointments, Hospital Stats, CPR on Soft Surfaces
This week’s episode of iRescueRadio covers a string of DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) Attacks that have occurred lately, followed by a discussion of virtual doctor appointments.
After those conversations comes a discussion of a website where you can compare statistics at each of the hospitals across the country.
This week’s puzzler covers a what would you do, regarding CPR on any soft surface like a bed.
iRescueRadio 032: Michael Jackson and Lou Gehrig’s Disease Connection to Algae
This episode goes right into a short discussion on Michael Jackson, and the CPR that was done. After that comes a discussion of the apparent connection of Lou Gehrig’s Disease to Blue-green Algae. These topics and more in this week’s episode of iRescueRadio!

This week’s episode of iRescueRadio covers many topics, such as Obama’s health care reform, which has been all over the news lately. We’d like to get your response to it, so feel free to comment on our blog.
The other big topic this week is the connection of weight-loss to our sense of smell, or weight gain to symptoms of depression.
Listen in, and feel free to comment on your thoughts. What are you doing to lose weight? What do you think of the health care reform? Do you even care about it?
iRescueRadio 030: Cellular Phones and Cancer, When to Call the Doctor, Jokes & Age and Faulty Speed Sensors
This episode of iRescueRadio covers many great topics, starting with a problem with raccoons and what to do about them.
The next topic is about speed sensors taking the blame for the Air France crash.
After that is a discussion of the cancer risk that is associated with cell phones.
The stumper this week is about when you should call your doctor versus calling 9-1-1.
iRescueRadio 029: Shark Attack Survival, Birds Falling from the Sky and Hormone Replacement Therapy
Welcome to the 29th episode of iRescueRadio. It’s hard to believe there have been so many, but it’s been a great run so far, each new episode is better than the last.
This episode we talk about a man who survived a shark attack.
The next topic is about birds falling from the air in Australia.
Hormone Replacement Therapy is the top medical news this week, as it, like most other things, has been linked to health problems.
The puzzler this week has to do with animal attack survival and what to do.
iRescueRadio 028: Booster Seat Laws, Dangerous Vehicles and Car Accidents
This episode of iRescueRadio starts with a quick discussion of the strange sounds of digestion that happen from time to time… and sometimes at the most inopportune times.
This week’s hot topic is about laws that are up for vote regarding booster seats in Michigan. The laws are with regard to age, and not height. If you’re shorter than 4’8″ you’re in danger of injury in a car, regardless of age, but the laws refer only to age, being 8 years of age for the cut off.
The top medical news story is a discussion of vehicles that are fun but not necessarily safe.
For the puzzler this week, if you come across a victim that was thrown from a car in traffic… what do you do?
